Women would just die to have a piece of this this cake. The most expensive dessert in the world comes from Japan and women will love it. With 2.000 diamonds on the cake, we cannot decide if it is a cake or jewelry. The dessert is made out of dark chocolate and has the shape of the African continent. The chef who created it said it express a jeweler’s love for Africa.
2. Diamond Christmas Cake, Tokyo, $1.65 Million
Japanese Pastry Chef, Jeong Hong Yong, created this cake. The cake had six sides and a couple of layers, and took all six months to design it. The baking process itself lasted just one month. It has 223 diamonds on the exterior , while the rest of it is edible. The chef decided to auction of the cake on Christmas Day at an exbihit called "Diamonds: Nature's Miracle" at Takashimaya Department Store and put up for sale during the Christmas of 2005.
3. Stawberries Arnaud's, New Orleans, $1.4 Million
The New Orleans Stalwart's dessert is a patented blend of bright red berries, vanilla ice cream, a port red wine sauce, whipped cream, and mint. It comes complete with a spectacular 5 carat diamond ring, which once belonged to British financier and philanthropist, Sir Ernest Cassel, and is one off creation for one lucky buyer.
4. ROX Diamond Cupcakes, $150,000
This diamond studded cupcake was created by luxury jeweller ROX and Cupcake Glasgow back in 2010 to honour Glasgow's three day Glam in the City fashion event. As the most expensive cupcake ever made, the iced treat is sprinkled with tens of tiny, valuable diamonds and can be ordered in a store at ROX in the Argyll Arcade, Glasgow.
5. Platinum Cake, Japan, $130,000
Japanese Pastry Chef, Nobue Ikara, created this insanely expensive wedding cake in 2007, dedicating it to famous Japanese women like models and actresses. The white cake contains platinum flakes along with platinum necklaces, pins, and pendants. Ikara crafted the cake in dedication to many women, including Rinko Kikuchi and Chie Kumazawa among others.
6. The Absurdity Sundae, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa $60,000
Ice Cream Sundaes are probably a bore if you are going to shell out $60,000 for something that you can enjoy at the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa. The Three Twins Ice Cream’s founder will accompany you to the mountain and personally make the world renowned Absurdity Sundae while you enjoy the view from Africa’s tallest peak. The price also includes first class ticket to Tanzania, a stay at a five-star hotel, a climb with a tour guide and a t-shirt for a souvenir.
7. Chocolate Cake, Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel, England, $35,000
The Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel in England's picturesque Lake District serves up one of the most expensive cakes in the world. Chef Marc Guibery created the chocolate pudding using only the finest chocolate and gold caviar topped with a two-carat diamond. It is crafted using four types of the finest Belgian chocolates and requires at least a 3 week warning advance order.
8. Chocolate Pudding, $34,000
A typical chocolate pudding will probably cost you $4 to $5. Add some champagne jelly, and it will set you back an additional 30 bucks. Maybe put in some biscuit joconde, as well. The price is still not that bad. If you include, 2 carat white diamonds in the mix, as what Mark Guibert did, then your chocolate pudding will amount to around $34,000.
9. Cannoli, Jasper Restaurant, Kansas City, $26,000
This creation by Carey Lennaccaro of Sprinkled with Sugar in Overland Park in Kansas is amazing for the following things: dark chocolate, whipped ricotta cheese, candied lemon, chocolate and lemon peel. Put them all together and you’ve got an incredible cannoli. And it gets even more amazing and incredible if the cannoli is similar to the exclusive one that features an expensive Italian diamond necklace.
10. Frozen Chocolate Haute, Serendipity 3, New York, $25,000
The Knipschildt Chocolatier shop in Connecticut is known for its expensive chocolates, with some costing around $2,600. Imagine how much a dessert will cost if it is just one of the ingredients. This dessert includes only the finest cocoa, an edible gold foil and truffle shavings. Served in a golden goblet and sprinkled with gold dust, it also includes some edible 23-carat gold and a bracelet made up of one carat of white diamonds and 18 carat of, you guess it, gold! Oh, it has whipped cream on top.
